How much equity do I give up if I participate in the Gwinnett Innovation Park?
  
A. We do not automatically get an equity stake in each company in the Incubator program.  We accept companies into the Incubator without requiring an equity stake in their company and companies are free to raise capital from any source.  We can help with introductions.  All companies in the Incubator pay monthly fees for rent, utilities, phone etc. and we make available to all companies the same resources and services as described in the What We Offer section.

How are you different than other privately sponsored incubators?
  
A. One difference is that we do not automatically get an equity stake in your company just for being part of the Incubator.  Secondly, we provide a supportive but non-smothering environment that does not squash the entrepreneurial drive.  We make lots of resources available to each company and you – not the Incubator staff – decide what you want to take advantage of on your own schedule. We make suggestions but don’t control your company

How much help and what kind can the Incubator provide?

What are the lease rates and terms?
  
A. Lease rates vary depending on the type and size of space your company uses in the Incubator. We are typically below market rates for comparable space, considering the significant amount of shared conference rooms, break room etc. and services that companies have access to in addition to their leased space.  Our lease terms are from 6 months to three years, depending upon the client requirements.

How do I apply?  How do you evaluate applicants?
  
A. After reviewing the information on this site about the Incubator, send an email to bherron@intelsys.com expressing your interest.  You will be sent a short application form.  Companies are accepted based on product and market characteristics, management attributes, availability of suitable space, financial status and “fit” with our Incubator style.

Can I hire the Incubator advisors as consultants if I don’t participate in the Incubator?
  
A. No, we do not provide consulting services for fees. We work with Incubator companies that reside in the Gwinnett Innovation Park– and do not charge separately for these services.

How long do companies stay in the Incubator?
  
A. Usually between two and three years.  We don’t have rigid graduation requirements but work with each company on a schedule that makes sense for them.  Typically, companies leave when they have achieved financial stability, are able to make long-term lease commitments, no longer need our business advice, or are acquired.
