Commetrex Corporation Named to the 2004 "pulver 100"
BladeWare Fax Media Server Recognized

For Immediate Release

Melville, New York, September 27, 2004 – pulver.com and Commetrex announced today that Commetrex has been named to the 2004 "pulver100", the VoIP industry's premiere listing of privately held growth companies said to represent the future of the communications ecosystem. Commetrex has been named to the list for the third consecutive year due to the contribution its BladeWare host-media-processing fax media server has made to the IP-telephony industry.

Over three years ago Commetrex shipped its unprecedented TerminatingT38, which combines T.30, the terminating-fax ITU standard used by nearly all fax machines, and T.38, the ITU recommendation for the real-time transport of T.30 fax transactions across IP networks. At VON Fall 2002 Commetrex announced BladeWare, its host-media-processing telephony middleware. Now, Commetrex has combined the two products to ship BladeWare Fax Media Server. BladeWare FMS finally brings to the IP network a SIP- based server capable of sourcing and sinking both G.711 pass-through and T.38 faxes, meaning it can transport faxes through gateways that do and do not support T.38 fax relay. The product allows service providers and enterprises to include high-capacity fax services in all-IP networks.

Jeff Pulver, CEO of pulver.com, explained: "2004 has been the year of VoIP, due in large part to companies like Commetrex that have helped spread IP communications via their category-defining products. In Commetrex' case, that product is BladeWare Fax Media Server, which finally allows value-adding service providers to add real-time IP fax capability to their service networks. We're proud to name Commetrex to this year's pulver100."

Mike Coffee, Commetrex' CEO, added, "Jeff Pulver is performing a major service for our industry by producing the VON conferences. Now, his Pulver100 serves to focus attention on companies that are providing the leadership of innovation for the IP-telephony industry. We are very pleased to have been included in this group for the last three years."

Commetrex will exhibit BladeWare Fax Media Server at VON Fall 2004, to be held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston October 18-21. BladeWare will be sending G.711 pass-through and T.38 faxes from an IBM eServer BladeCenter-T through a Telco Systems Access211 IP endpoint, which supports fax in both G.711 pass-through and T.38 modes.

About the pulver100
Originally introduced in 2002, the pulver100 features private companies in the communications sector that have substantial real-world deployments and enjoy significant growth rates. The value chain characterized by the pulver100 differs from the vertically integrated telecom model of the last century, focusing more on a networking-industry model that espouses open interfaces, connectivity decoupled from services, and software decoupled from hardware.
