QS Release Insight Version 6.0

Insight 6.0 - Bigger and Better

"The first thing our customers will notice about Insight 6.0," said QS President Kevin Davidson, "is that it is bigger!" "Public Health Departments don't always have the latest computer hardware to run their systems, and recognizing this we optimized Insight to run on small monitors. Now that standard monitor sizes have increased, we made Insight bigger to take advantage of larger monitors. While we were re-organizing the forms to match the larger screens, we took the opportunity to take a look at what we've learned from the 7 and a half years experience we have with Insight deployment to improve the usability and consistency of the interface."

Insight 6.0 Features

  • Standard Patient Information Panel on all patient-oriented forms across the product. Many forms in Insight have patient identifying information on them. In previous versions, this information was not always displayed in the same format. Based on customer feedback, we decided to standardize this display across all forms in Insight.
  • High-efficiency data entry for Immunization history and mass vaccination events. Based on a customer suggestion, we have added a new way of entering Immunization data for historical vaccinations and mass vaccination clinics. Volumes of information can be entered largely by mouse clicks with a minimum of data entry. This is addition to the existing "one click" entry for new immunizations.
  • New editor for receipts, letters and labels. Insight 6.0 now uses the same Report Builder designer for ad hoc reports inside Insight for vastly improved control over user-designed letters and labels.
  • Reports from Grids. Throughout Insight, there are grids listing things like applications, results, encounters, patients. Now for many of these grids, you can automatically print a report of what you see on the grid. This is not a simple screen shot, but a completely formatted report of the entire list. Reports can also be saved as a spreadsheet, a text file, and Adobe PDF document or even as an HTML web page!
  • New California CHDP module.
  • 4th Generation Deduplication program. SIMDUP2 has a vastly improved ability to distinguish between duplicate patients.
  • User-configurable Speed Buttons. View just the ones you need.
  • System administrator can now change a user's password without knowing the old one.
  • Login ID now defaults to the previous Login on the machine, rather than the Windows Login ID
  • HIPAA compliant ANSI X.12 837 Institutional billing
  • HIPAA compliant ANSI X.12 837 Dental billing
  • ADA paper billing for dental claims
  • Expansion of Lab Editing Fields
  • Increased flexibility for notes in Medical Records. The various note types can now be mixed in one note definition. Simplified form creation.
  • New Registration Type: Anonymous for STD program.
  • Improved look and feel consistency plus numerous minor tweaks and corrections.
